Check out this experiment. A piece of filter paper was rubbed on the hands of the experimenter. (You know that hands are exceedingly dirty, right?)
The paper was cut into 4 quarters, and each quarter was given a treatment. One week later, the results were photographed.
As you can see, the germs with the hand sanitizer treatment grew rampantly. Peppermint and lavender essential oils grew around but not on the papers, and the Thieves oil totally inhibited all bacterial growth.
